About therapy
Your First Step On the Path of Self-Healing
Psychotherapeutic Counselling can also be referred to as counselling or therapy. Quite simply, this means speaking to a professional who has no bias and no hidden agenda.
Being in therapy is different from speaking to a friend, colleague, your religious leaders or family members. Your story won't be interrupted by someone else sharing their own experience, you won't be given platitudes, or sanctimonious advice, or be told to stay strong and just move on.
What I offer in therapy is a safe and confidential space to be heard with empathy and without judgement.
As an Integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I can tailor different psychotherapeutic approaches to suit your own unique needs. We can work in different ways, this is not a one size fits all approach. Within safe boundaries, we can talk or share silence, we can walk, we can dance, we can sing, we can play, or do some art - This is your space and I encourage you to express in your own unique way, as we explore and discover all aspects of yourself.
I offer open-ended therapy. This means that there is no set number of sessions, though I usually recommend at least 12 sessions. Our sessions are 50 minutes long and held at a regular time once a week.
Sessions can be held face to face at my practice in Richmond, or via secure online video conferencing or telephone. This means that no matter where you are, we can connect. Please get in touch to discover what option works best for you.
Therapy might just be the space you need to come up for air, explore your needs and learn how to express and fulfil them. Whatever you're going through, I hold hope for you. I am here to listen, share your burden and support you on your journey to inner peace and emotional wellbeing.
My goal is to help you come back to your default setting - Love.
