Relationship Coach | Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP)
Couples Therapist | Mother-Daughter Coach | Group Facilitator | Writer | Speaker

A few years ago, I volunteered through a local church to help support pre-marital couples. I developed an interest in how each individual's experiences, cultures, beliefs, values and family histories impacted the amazing couples I worked with and how they relate together.

I have a very simple view of life - that love makes the world a better place. I believe that healthy relationships are crucial to emotional wellbeing.I wanted to learn more about how to support couples better and embarked on a three-year experiential training course to gain more knowledge and skills as a counsellor.

Training to become an Integrative Counsellor has been one of the most rewarding and challenging journeys I have undertaken. I quickly learnt I wasn't there to learn about "other people", but to deepen my knowledge and self-awareness of myself.

A requirement of my training was that in order to be a therapist, I had to be in therapy as well, so believe me when I say I have sat in the client's chair too!

I continued supporting couples whilst in training and had the privilege of working with children as a counsellor at Place2Be, a registered children's charity. I also took a placement counselling adults at Headstrong, a mental health charity.

I'm also trained and certified as a Couples & Relationship Coach and Mother-Daughter Coach to enhance my skills in supporting couples.

I am now in private practice, offering a hybrid of online and in-person sessions from my lovely calm space in Richmond. Over the past decade,, I have enjoyed working with a diverse range of clients, through one-to one therapy, relationship coaching, group coaching and holding workshops. I am constantly in search of new ways to develop my knowledge & understanding of relationships, and invest a lot of time in continuing my professional development.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, travelling, going for long nature walks, or dancing like no one's watching - sometimes all at the same time!

Testimonials

  • From the very first session with Bibi I felt seen and truly understood, and she was able to see and penetrate the armour I had created to protect myself from a world that is unkind to Black women, especially in corporate spaces. The fake armour was soon replaced by real self-love and confidence because Bibi creates a space for genuine vulnerability allowing you to adequately confront things and grow from it.

  • "The most safe relationship I have in my life. I feel like I will always get honesty that is rooted in genuine care. Bibi wants the best for me, she’s consistent and I always feel like I get the support I need." - Client K

  • "I have been able to self reflect, and identify self-limiting behviours. I have transitioned into the person I have always wanted to be."

  • "she really helped me identify that a lot of the patterns in how I seek romantic relationships, external validation, and some of my psychological motivations come from the loss of father during my childhood-- which is something I haven't been able to process or work through on my own yet"

  • "Bibi is a phenomenal therapist. I had worked with a number of therapists prior to Bibi but none of them had the approachability, warmth or understanding that Bibi has. She has been my therapist for many years now and I recommend her to everybody, especially black women as their is a certain level of unspoken understanding that comes from having a therapist who has a similar background to you. She is very professional and despite my best efforts to make her my friend she maintains her boundaries and always acts appropriately. I cannot recommend her enough!"

"Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."
